What does registration currently cost?
The application fee is currently £92 for each LPA, or £184 if you register both types. Registration usually takes 8 to 10 weeks if there are no mistakes in the application.
What can cause a delay?
- Missing or inconsistent details
- Signatures or dates in the wrong order
- A certificate provider who cannot take the role
- Problems with witness details
- Someone raising an objection
Why is it better not to wait?
Registration takes time, and the donor must have mental capacity when making the LPA. Planning while life is settled gives everyone more time to understand the choices.
